How many years have you been with raiseRED?
2 years as dancer, 2nd year on Executive Board
What are you studying at UofL?
Why do you dance?
I dance for the kids that can’t. I dance for the smiles on the kids’ faces. I dance for the innocent lives that have been lost. I don’t stop dancing.
Advice for first time dancers?
Wear comfortable shoes and socks, but more importantly, have the time of your life. This is an everlasting experience that you will remember for the rest of your days, and it will not only be one of the longest but one of the best days of your life. At the end of the 18 hours, you will have never felt so accomplished and satisfied knowing that you did it not for yourself, not for anyone else, but solely for the kids that are affected by this horrible disease.
Favorite raiseRED memory?
My favorite memory of RaiseRED was last year right after the reveal. I was fortunate enough to go up on stage and hand one of the Executive Board members a trophy. This was one of the most surreal moments of my life. Not only did we cry tears of joy, but in that very moment, I knew I had to do more. Now, I am extremely honored to serve on this board and represent such a tremendous organization.
Fun fact about yourself?
I’ve once danced for 18 hours straight and I had perfect attendance for 10 straight years in elementary school through high school.
