For many students, raiseRED is the most meaningful experience of their college career. Witnessing the tangible impact their efforts have on the families raiseRED benefits is an experience all of our dancers cherish. RaiseRED has focused on creating opportunities to continue this experience as an alumnus and has recently made great strides to continue involvement opportunities.
The easiest way to stay informed about raiseRED as an alumnus is by following our social media accounts. Here is a link to our Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. We update all of our social media accounts regularly, posting volunteer opportunities, event details, spotlights, and more!
For those alumni who want to continue to be more involved in raiseRED, we have a new opportunity to do so. Last year, raiseRED created our Alumni Council. The Alumni Council is open to anyone, regardless of whether or not you recently participated! Its current members range from graduates of the Class of 2020 to those who participated in the first marathon in 2014. Within the Alumni Council, there are various levels of commitment, ranging from being a member and attending a monthly virtual meeting to holding an elected position. Even though it is less than a year old, our Alumni Council quickly made an impact, hosting numerous events throughout last year, including various fundraisers and a breakfast on the day of the marathon! This year, our Alumni Council is going to make an even bigger impact by sponsoring individual dancers and assisting with fundraising! We are so excited to help our Alumni Council continue to make an impact.
Additionally, our Alumni Council recently partnered with Executive Board and created alumni mentors for each position. These mentors are previous Executive Board and committee members and have already proven to be a tremendous help- providing great insight and advice. My own mentor has helped me navigate the ever-changing sports schedule! Mentoring provides an opportunity for alumni to create relationships with current dancers, stay very informed, and continue to make an impact.
