Myth #1: As a dancer, you will have to stand for 18 hours straight
FALSE: There are many opportunities to sit, rest, and relax throughout the marathon. You are not required to stand!
Myth #2: Dancers (participants) at raiseRED Dance Marathon dance the entire time
FALSE: There will be a line dance taught in pieces throughout the marathon, but it is sprinkled in between times of food, games, and activities!
Myth #3: There's no free time for 18 hours straight.
FALSE: There are multiple opportunities to branch out from your color team to spend time with your peers and friends during the marathon!
Myth #4: You have to be involved with a student-run organization to register.
FALSE: raiseRED is very popular among Greek Life, but it is not a requirement that you join an organization to participate. There are many pre-events: opportunities to meet people before the marathon. You can even make your own team with your friends!
Myth #5: You won't get food.
FALSE: Three meals will be provided: dinner, late-night snack, and breakfast. If you have dietary restrictions, list those on your registration and we will make sure to provide that for you!
Myth #6: You will have to run.
FALSE: Unless you choose to participate in any games that involve running, you will not have to run!!
Myth #7: All funds don't go to our local community.
FALSE: All funds either go directly to our patient needs, or to the research fo a cure for pediatric cancer and blood disorders here in Louisville.
